A single scarlet rose blooms across the whole of this red rose rug, its petals opening in concentric rings against maroon and black. Rosa Red outlines every petal with a dark carved line, so each one rises from the glossy polyester pile like a soft cushion. Which size of 3D carved rug should I choose?
For a living room with a three-seater sofa, choose 160 x 225 cm. The 120 x 170 cm size suits a smaller lounge, a two-seater sofa or a bedroom. Use 80 x 150 cm beside a double bed or under a reading chair, and 60 x 110 cm for a bedside, doorway or hearth.
How do I clean a carved shaggy rug?
Vacuum regularly on a suction-only setting, or with the beater bar switched off, following the direction of the pile. Run your fingers or a soft brush along the carved channels now and then to lift the pile. Blot spills promptly with a clean, damp cloth, and use a professional rug cleaner for a deeper clean.
Will the pile shed?
Like most new shaggy rugs, Sculpt rugs can release a few loose fibres at first. This settles with regular vacuuming. If a strand stands higher than the rest, trim it level with scissors rather than pulling it. Brushing the pile by hand helps lift any areas flattened by furniture.
Do I need an underlay, and can I use it with underfloor heating?
On wood, laminate or tiled floors, we recommend a rug underlay or gripper, sold separately, to help keep the rug in place and add cushioning, especially for the smaller sizes. If you have underfloor heating, check your system's guidance on rugs and underlays before laying.
