Samarkand

Samarkand is our collection of vintage oriental rugs with an overdyed look, the kind of piece that seems to have gathered colour and character over decades. Smoky slate-grey grounds carry striated abrash, the soft streaks of shifting tone prized in older rugs, while florals glow in magenta, emerald, cobalt, saffron and orange. Choose scattered palmettes, trellis vines and dense all-over blooms, or softer faded designs in mauve-rose, lilac-grey and blush, all with a low pile and a runner option.
