Description
Plain rugs are underrated outdoors, and this terracotta bordered outdoor rug makes the case with a warm, uninterrupted field and a neat double-line border. Capri is the one to choose when furniture, planting or tiles already carry the pattern, and the sisal-look two-tone weave gives the ground a subtle texture. The flatweave is designed for outdoor use and fits easily into a patio, conservatory or busy kitchen.
There is no motif to compete with, only the terracotta field and a double-line border that outlines the edge like a picture frame. That makes it a natural base for patterned cushions, painted Portuguese-style tiles, blue-and-white pottery or a striped parasol. Use 200 x 290 cm under a six-seat table, 120 x 170 cm in front of a garden-room sofa, or 80 x 150 cm by the back door.

Care
Shake out or brush off debris; spot clean with mild soapy water and let it dry fully flat; roll and store indoors over winter.
Tip: use an anti-slip underlay on hard floors. It keeps the rug flat and makes vacuuming easier.

Alfresco questions
Can I leave an Alfresco rug outside all year?
Alfresco rugs are flatweaves designed for outdoor use on patios, decks and balconies. To keep yours looking its best, bring it indoors or roll it away in prolonged wet weather and over the winter months, and make sure it is fully dry before you store it. Avoid laying it on waterlogged ground or lawn.
Can I use an outdoor rug indoors?
Yes. The sisal-look two-tone flatweave looks just as good inside, which is why many customers use theirs as an indoor outdoor rug in kitchens, conservatories, garden rooms and boot rooms. The flat, low-profile weave sits neatly beneath dining tables and chairs. On smooth indoor floors, add a rug underlay to help keep it in place.
What size outdoor rug do I need for a dining set?
Measure your table and add about 60 cm on every side so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. As a guide, 150 x 200 cm suits a small table for two to four, 200 x 290 cm fits most six-seat dining sets, and 240 x 340 cm suits larger tables, benches or a corner sofa.
How do I clean an outdoor rug?
Shake it out or sweep it regularly to remove leaves, soil and grit, and vacuum it indoors without a beater bar. Blot spills promptly with a clean, damp cloth rather than rubbing. Always check the care label before using any cleaning product, and let the rug dry flat before rolling it up or bringing it back inside.
How is delivery and can I return a rug?
Every Alfresco rug comes with free UK mainland delivery. Larger sizes arrive rolled, so lay the rug flat for a day or two to let it relax. If the colour or size is not right, you have 14 days to return it, and return postage is paid.
