Weathered and pale, this cream distressed medallion rug gives a living room, dining room or hallway the easy charm of an old family rug. Ludlow is built around a Heriz-style diamond medallion, heavily distressed so its angular lines fade and break up. The low high-low pile is soft to the touch, with a slight sheen that brings the texture to life.
An angular Heriz-style diamond medallion sits at the centre, heavily distressed in cream so the geometry fades softly into the field. It suits warm white, sage or putty walls, oak, leather, linen and brass, and it brightens dark boards beautifully. Use the 66 x 230 cm runner in a hallway, 160 x 230 cm in front of a sofa, or 200 x 290 cm under a dining table for six.

Which size runner do I need for my hallway?
Measure the length and width of your hallway and leave a strip of floor showing on each side. The 66 x 230 cm runner suits most standard hallways and landings, while 80 x 300 cm covers longer or wider halls. Ludlow Blue and Charcoal is available in room sizes only.
How do I clean a Patina rug?
Vacuum regularly on a low setting without a beater bar, following the direction of the pile. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth, then spot clean gently with cold water and a little mild detergent. Avoid soaking the rug, and use a professional rug cleaner for a deeper clean.
Does the rug shed, and how thick is the pile?
Patina rugs have a low high-low pile, so they sit comfortably under furniture and suit busy hallways. New rugs can release a few loose fibres at first; this settles with regular vacuuming. The worn, distressed areas are part of the design and not a sign of damage.
Do I need an underlay, and is it suitable for underfloor heating?
On wooden, tiled or stone floors, especially in hallways, we recommend a good rug underlay to help keep the rug or runner in place. With underfloor heating, choose an underlay designed for it and check your heating manufacturer's guidance before laying any rug.
